NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Frank Russell Courts, age 98, at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at Episcopal Church of Epiphany. Rev. Matt Woolett will officiate the services and Rev. Ed Degeyter. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22 with a Masonic ritual at 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday until the time of service. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Courts passed away during the early morning hours on Friday, April 20, 2018 at his residence. A retired Sugarcane Farmer, he was a proud New Iberian native who was involved in numerous events and organizations. Some of his many honors included LSU pre-med alumni, Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity alumni, 1969 King of the Krewe of Iberians and WW2 Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed all 78 years of his Freemason work as he was honored to a 32nd Degree Master Mason and active brother of both the Iberia Aurora Lodge and the Jeanerette Lodge. He is survived by his daughter, Katherine "Kitty" Courts; two granddaughters, Jackie Johnson Marsh and husband Tommy and Jenni Johnson Ducote and husband David and three great granddaughters; Ruby Ducote, Lily Ducote and McCartney Marsh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Deslatte Courts; parents, Dr. Frank Field Courts and Henrietta Sarah Russel Courts; one sister, Katherine Sarah Courts Ferrrero and maternal grandmother Kate Fitzhugh Russell. Pallbearers will be Billy Gesser, Leigh McGowen, Ricky Gravois, Sherwood Latour, Eugene Olivier, Honorable Keith Comeaux and Dr. Ken Brown, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lester Boutte, Dr. Donald Pavy, Dr. Paul Gulotta, Harold Weber, Jacque Cousin, Tommy Marsh, David Ducote and all of his masonic brothers. The family would like to thank friends, doctors and Hospice of Acadian for all their love and support.
