Faye was retired from the Commercial Appeal after 35 years of service. She also served as President of the National Newspaper Guild. Faye graduated Valedictorian of her 1951 Memphis Tech class.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Gerald McCracken Sr., as well as two sons Kenneth McCracken and James Gerald McCracken Jr.
She is survived by her brothers Kenneth (Patricia) Berryhill Jr., and Randal (Susie) Boyd Berryhill; sister Linda Joyce Edwards (Lonnie); and grandson Trey McCracken. Faye also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren, Bethany Faye, Triston, Bailey, and Bella McCracken; as well as several nieces and nephews and her beloved pets, Dolly her bird, and Daisy her dog.
The family will gather to receive friends Sunday October 7th from 4 - 7 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. A funeral service for Faye will be held for Monday October 8th, at 2:00 PM also at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
