The funeral of Ruby Pauline (Ball) Barker, 93, of Athens, will be at 3 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Klein and Casey Harbin officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Athens.
Mrs. Barker died Friday, January 26, 2007, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born September 20, 1913, to Phillip Walter Ball and Addie Hill (Flanagan) Ball in Limestone County. She was a member of Oakland Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Redus P. Barker, son, James Oscar Barker and daughters, Pauline Baker and Linda "Tootie" Barker.
She is survived by five daughters, Barbara Christopher and husband, Norris, of Elkmont, Jo Ann Carter and husband, Tommy, of Elkmont, Betty Bolton and husband, Wayne, of Athens, Peggy Mitchell and husband, Larry, of Athens, and Judy Whitt and husband, John, of Elkmont; one son, Phillip Barker of Athens, 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby married Redus P. Barker on October 29, 1932, Athens, Limestone Co, AL.
