North Bend Man Dies of Injuries
Funeral Services of Dave Griffith
NORTH BEND, April 28--Funeral services were held here today for David Griffith, well-known resident of North Bend who died Friday morning from injuries sustained last Wednesday when he was struck by a truck at the Cherny-Watson elevator.
Mr. Griffith was accidentally caught between the truck and a wall of the elevator building, sustaining injuries to his chest that resulted in his death.
The services were held at the Methodist church here, with Rev. Charles McCorkle officiating. Burial was made in Prospect Hill cemetery at Elkhorn.
Mr. Griffith was born December 27, 1863, at Winterset, Iowa and was married November 28, 1887 [1889], to Miss Adeline Flageolle, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They lived on a farm three miles north of North Bend for many years. In recent years Mr. Griffith has made his home with his son-in-law, Thomas Watchorn, who lives on a farm six miles north of this city.
Mr. Griffith survivors: three children, Mrs. Walter Watchorn of Overton, Nebraska, Henry Griffith of Springfield, Illinois and Harry Griffith of North Bend. Nine grandchildren and one sister. Mrs. Romine of Ames, also survive.

INJURIES RESULT FATALITY TO DAVID GRIFFITH
David Griffith died Friday morning April 25th from injuries received when he was struck by a truck at the Cherny & Watson elevator Wednesday of last week. Mr. Griffith was standing in the driveway of the elevator when one of Dan Mundy's trucks driven by Warren Kaspery drove in with a load of grain. Mr. Griffith was caught between the truck and the wall on the north side of the driveway. It was not thought at first that his injuries were of a serious nature. He was assisted to Fred Porter's truck, which happened to be near the scene, and taken to Dr. Hoff's office where it was found that he had suffered a crushed chest and probably internal injuries.
David Griffith was born at Winterset, Iowa, December 27, 1863, and died at North Bend, Nebraska, April 25, 1930. He was married Adeline Flageolle at Council Bluffs, Iowa, November 28, 1887 [1889]. Seven children were born to this union. Three died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Watchorn, died February 28, 1929.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline; 1 daughter, Mrs. Walter Watchorn of Overton, Nebraska; 2 sons, Henry of Springfield, Illinois and Harry at home; 9 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service took place from the Methodist church. Monday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. C. M. McCorkle officiated. The music was furnished by a quarter composed of Miss Mable Datel, Miss Louise Young, J. R. Tapster and Rev. McCorkle.
Burial took place in the beautiful cemetery at Elkhorn, Nebraska.
