Gerry "Gerald" Dee Pingry, 85, of Pryor, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 23, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; the son of Elton D. and Nellie (White) Pingry. Gerry enlisted and faithfully served in the United States Navy, and after being honorably discharged, married Anita Pingry on July 3, 1955 in Oklahoma City. Gerry has lived in the Mayes County area for 35 years, coming from San Diego, California. Gerry owned and operated Bible Book Store in Pryor for 7 years. He was of the Christian Faith and attended Life Fellowship Church. Gerry looked forward to attending his Bible Study Group. He also enjoyed going fishing, music, singing, and bonsai trees. He was a wonderful man of faith, loving father and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the Life Fellowship Church in Pryor with Pastor Austin Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Coy Alexander, Kenny Kizer, Butch Nichols, Allan Stromland, Derek Sein, and Mike Wallace serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Gerry is survived by his son, Stephen Pingry and wife Heather of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Geri Dee Feltman and husband Dan of Cordell, Oklahoma; brother, Earl Dean Pingry of Clinton, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Alexis Walker and Claire Pingry; 2 great grandchildren; Jayden Jones and Maliki Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Nellie Pingry; wife, Anita Pingry.
