Services for Ruth O. Anderson, 83, Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel, Tyler, with Kevin Naillieux and Doug Murray officiating.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Combes Cemetery near Harlingen with Loren Quick and Darren Bryan officiating.

Mrs. Anderson died May 11, 2007, at a Tyler hospice.

She was born April 22, 1924, in Primera to the late Nathan Sherman and Elsie King Oakes.

She grew up in Sebastian, and after graduating from high school worked for Civil Service in Harlingen and Corpus Christi during World War II. She lived in North Dakota from 1947-1959 when she returned to the Texas Valley.

In 1981 she moved to Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Kenneth E. Anderson Sr. in 1981, and daughter, Elsie Marie Anderson.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth E. Anderson Jr. and Andrew S. Anderson, both of Tyler, and Robert O. Anderson, Flint; daughter, Carolyn M. Bergh, Havana, N.D.; sister, Mary M. Reid, Corpus Christi; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Capt. Austin Anderson, Capt. Kris Anderson, Nathan E. Anderson, Travis Bergh, Shannon Bergh, Chris Breedlove and Aaron Nelson.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
