JOHN WALLS DIES TODAY
Complications due to advanced age caused the death of John D. Walls, age 75, at 7:10 a.m. today at the home of William Jerrells, two miles east of Smithville, where he made his home. He had been ill ten days.
Mr. Walls was a native of Tennessee, but had lived in this county about 50 years. He was formerly employed in stone quarries of the county. Two sons, Guy and Jesse Walls of Georgia, two daughters and a nephew, Edward Walls of this county, survive.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Jerrells home at 10 o’clock Monday morning by Rev. Hugh Barrett. Interment will be in the Lucas cemetery. Pallbearers will be Will Chambers, Sherman and William May and Dave, Joe and T. Sherman Lucas.
