Terry Lewis Adams, 67, of Buffalo, died September 29, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, October 4, 2018 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4-8PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Mortuary. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Fire Department or to the family.
Terry was born on May 26, 1951; the son of Lewis and Dorothy (Pagel) Adams. He was united in marriage to Brenda K. Coonts on November 23rd, 1968 in Buffalo. This year would have been their 50th wedding anniversary and with that they said they traveled to Oregon to accomplish their travels of all 50 states.
He enjoyed golfing, camping, music, and traveling. He was a member of the Buffalo Fire Department for 48 years, joining in July 1970. He served as Fire Chief for 33 years. He worked at LaFarge North America in Buffalo for 40 years, retiring in 2010.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Brenda, son and daughter-in-law, Todd (Michelle) Adams, Buffalo; daughter and son-in-law, Tara (Doug) Anderson, Buffalo; four grandsons, Tyler, Trent, Tanner, and Zach all of Buffalo; step grandchildren, Cassie Gold, Gilbert, AZ, and Cody (Danielle) Anderson, Mapleton, IL; step great-grandchildren, Jace, Stella, Adelyn and Darla; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Ralph) Stalder, Blue Grass, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff (Ronda) Coonts, Buffalo, mother-in-law Grace Coonts, Davenport, and many nieces and nephews.
