Brother Threat was born May 30, 1946, in Forrest City, and was the son of John E. Threat Sr., and Nancy B. Peeler Threat. He retired from the Forrest City Post Office and was a retired Baptist Minister, he had a Doctors Degree in Ministry, and was a member of the Haynes Baptist Church. He lived in Morrilton and Conway for thirty-two years before moving back to Haynes. During his life he was the pastor of several churches, Old Hickory Baptist Church in Morrilton, Plumerville Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas, Wye Mountain Baptist Church in Little Rock and Haynes Baptist Church in Haynes. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Brother Threat married Viola Maxwell in 1973, and she survives him along with five brothers; John E. Threat, and wife, Margaret, of Forrest City, Jack Threat, and wife, Helen, of Petal, Mississippi, N.E. Threat, and wife, Ping, of Atlanta, Georgia, J. B. Threat, and wife, Carol, of McRae, Arkansas, and Sam Threat, and wife, Dorothy, of Palestine, two sisters; Martha Threat Walls of Forrest City, and Elaine Threat Stowell, and husband, Frank, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; John Sr. and Nancy Threat and one brother, Tom Threat.
