ZANESVILLE -- Mildred D. Spinks, 82, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Bethesda Hospital.
She was born April 27, 1921, in Junction City. She was formerly employed by American Match Company and Hazel-Atlas Glass.
She is survived by her husband Virgil Spinks, whom she married May 17, 1937; daughters, Daisy (George) Kerr and Dianna (Harry) Wortman both of Zanesville; son, Chester E. (Fran) Spinks of Dresden; sisters, Madeline Spinks of Zanesville and Carol Sager of Baltimore; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rosella Hammond Davis; sisters, Margaret Sheppard and Dora Leach; and brothers, Emmett, Bill, Robert, Wayne, Arthur and John Davis.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the DeLong-Baker and Lanning Funeral Home, 56 S. 5th Street, Zanesville, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Mary Gene Boteler officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
