Harry W. Bergmann, MD, 99, of Chatham, died at 11:02 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Reflections Memory Care in Chatham. Harry was born March 5, 1919, in Beardstown, the son of William A. and Gladis Shannon Bergmann. He married Ruth Reichert on February 8, 1964, in Springfield; she preceded him in death.

Harry graduated from Beardstown High School and the University of Illinois. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific from 1944 - 1946 and for 30 years in the National Guard. Harry was a member of Westminster Presbyterian and loved to travel.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Harry W. "Skip" Bergmann, Jr.; and sister, Lois Loyd.

He is survived by his daughter, Judith Ann (husband, Gerald) Dalsin of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Terri Bergmann of Fort Meyer, FL; step-son, David (wife, Ann) Haaker of Springfield; step-daughter, Linda Cisco of Springfield; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Lovekamp of Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 533 S. Walnut. Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Blythe Denham Kieffer officiating.

Private family Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery with military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
