Graveside service for Carolyn Ruth Pingry, 76, of Lawton will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug.10, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Pingry passed away on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, in Lawton.

Carolyn was born Nov. 27, 1940, in Lawton to James Clarence and Ruth (Chapman) Thomas. She grew up in Lawton, where she attended school, graduating from Lawton High School. She then began her career with civil service at Fort Sill, working first at the print plant for 30 years. She later moved to finance and accounting with DFAS, retiring with over 40 years of service. Carolyn married Lawrence Leon Pingry on Dec. 31, 1985, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Leon, of the home; her stepdaughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steve Semmel, of Woodward; her stepson and daughter-in-law, Lawrence "Larry" Leon Pingry Jr. and Angie of Woodward; her sister-in-law, Terri Thomasher; grandchildren and their spouses: Lindsey Summeral, Alysha and Matt McDonald, Phillip and Becky Castor, Blane and Celia Pingry, Shane and Morgan Pingry, Bryce and Jessie Pingry, and Mikayla Warren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandson on the way; a special friend, June Moss, of Lawton; and her nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jim Thomas.
