Michael D. Schmidt, age 70, of Fishers, IN passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2018. Mike was born in Portland, OR on November 20, 1947 to parents, Frederick R. and Vivian M. (Lillemoen) Schmidt.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Portland State University. During his career, he worked for RDS in Anderson, El Paso and Dayton and retired from Lionbridge Midwest, where he was the Director of Drafting.

Mike was a member of White Rock Fellowship in Noblesville, where he assisted with the sound board. He was also a member of the White River Guard, where he enjoyed participating in reenactments. He also discovered a love of making antique military rifles. He was a loyal Oregon Ducks fan and he and his wife always enjoyed their travels back to their home state to visit.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley J. (Greco) Schmidt, whom he married on June 28, 1969. He is also survived by his two children, Danielle M. Schmidt Blake (Derek) and Dustin M. Schmidt (Rhonda); three grandchildren: Austin T., Noah M. and Lindsey M. Blake; and two brothers, Ronald A. and Bradley C. Schmidt, both of Portland, OR.
