Harold "Sam" Morrison, 93, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, West Liberty. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Church. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge or arrangements. Burial with military honors will be in the North Prairie Cemetery, West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to West Liberty Rescue Unit or Iowa City Hospice. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Wayne Morrison was born August 12, 1925 in Atalissa, Iowa the son of Marvin and Viola (Lehman) Morrison. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School in 1943 and served in the United States Navy during WWII. On November 13, 1946 he was united in marriage to Velma Druhl in Davenport. Sam and Velma farmed in the West Liberty area all their life.

He was a member of the West Liberty Country Club, American Legion, enjoyed reading, wood working, walking, jigsaw puzzles attending the grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include six children: Larry (Connie) Morrison, Kenny (Sue) Morrison, Roger (Heidi) Morrison all of West Liberty, Rosemary Strohbehn of Davenport, Sharon (Bill) Wilson of Atalissa and Becky (Ernie) Todd of Iowa City. 20 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Siblings: Leota Shaw of Peoria, Arizona, June (Bob) Olds of Davenport, Elsie Powers of West Liberty, Ray (Martie) Morrison of Peoria, Arizona and Lewis Morrison of Wilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Velma, son Bob, daughter-in-law Missy, great grandson Weston, brothers: Roy, Albert, Bill, Floyd, sisters Alice Wiese and Ruth Howard, and two infant sisters Violet and Helen.
