Okolona – Mr. David Butram, 73, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his residence in Okolona. He was born December 29, 1944 in Hickman, Kentucky to James David Butram and Minnie Lois Hicks Butram. David lived in Memphis most of his life. He worked as the warehouse manager of the downtown location of Goldsmiths Department Store, until he retired. After retirement, he managed the greens at the Okolona Country Club. David was an avid golfer, known by his fellow golfers as “Frog” nicknamed for his famous putting stance. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues. David was a guitarist and enjoyed playing music with friends. He wrote collections of songs over many decades. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is remembered with a big smile for his over-the-top Christmas decorations and holiday generosity.

A graveside service will be at 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 27, 2018 at East Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Okolona. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 PM and Thursday from 10 AM to service time at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors
