Son of David Elliott and Mary Cahoon.
He was baptized into the LDS church about 1842, probably in Nauvoo, Illinois. He was just over 20 years old when their family arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah on 15 July 1853.
He married (1) Adeline Clarinda Curtis, daughter of Charlotte Alvord and Lyman Curtis, on 1 February 1857 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. One the same day he married (2) her mother, Charlotte Alvord . At this time there were many widows in the Salt Lake area, so the Church instituted a policy to provide for their support whereby, when a young man married and his bride's mother was a widow, he was to marry her also so that she might be taken care of. At this time Charlotte Alvord was assumed to be a widow (Lyman Curtis was presumed dead, but returned several years later) and this is why Peter Mack Elliott was married to both the mother and daughter on the same day. His marriage to Charlotte Alvord was cancelled 26 September 1861. Peter Mack Elliott had the following 2 children with Charlotte Alvord:
1)Edson W. Elliott (1858-1908)
2)Harriett Louisa Curtis Elliott Morris (1860-1902)

He married (3) Eliza Maria Ivie about January or February 1878. Their only child, Theda Ann Elliott was born November 16, 1879 at Salem, Utah. Peter and Maria seem to have separated about the time Theda was born.

He lived in Thistle, Utah. He had part ownership of a mine, which he had many legal battles. He died on 31 October 1885 in Spanish Fork Canyon, in Utah County, Utah from falling off a rock. (It has been suggested that in all probability he was pushed from the rock over the legal problems and ownership of the mine.)
He apparently had a fairly large estate by this time, since his daughter Harriett received $800 from its settlement.
