DIED ON THE TRAIN.
Sad Mission of Mrs. R. M. Baker, of London, Ky.
The southern railway train arriving in the city yesterday morning at 9 o'clock bore the body of R. M. Baker, one of the most prominent citizens of London, Ky., accompanied by his bereaved wife, with whom he had been spending the summer in southern points. Mr. Baker was consumptive, and had been through the south vainly seeking relief from the dread disease. Finding that he must die, he asked to be taken to his home, where he could pass away peacefully surrounded by his friends and relatives. Accordingly he started, accompanied by his wife, but they were barely a day on the road when grim death overtook the invalid, and yesterday morning the sorrowing wife brought the remains in the city. The body was left in the care of Undertaker Gillespie, and shipped last night to the home of the deceased in Kentucky. On the same train the wife left on her sad mission.
