Joe was born in Case, Missouri, on July 28, 1926, a son of the late Anna (Minges) and Joseph J. Engemann.
He was a farmer and also worked as an independent truck driver.
He was the widower of Leona Emma (Edler) Engemann. On May 31st,1992, they were married at St. George Church, Hermann. He was also preceded by his first wife, Geraldine (nee) Gosen.
Mr. Engemann is survived by a daughter-in-law Melba Engemann, Hermann; son, Paul, and wife Belinda Engemann, Hermann; son, Denis and wife Carla,Hermann; son-in-law, Mike Heuer, Kansas City, KS; daughter, Susan Kitchenand husband Rick, Columbia; daughter, Rosie Branson and husband Donnie,Berger; daughter Teresa Wheeler and husband Scott, Carmel, IN; son, Tom and wife Cathy, Rhineland; granddaughter, Tamara Gray, Jefferson City; granddaughter Bobbie Jo Gray, Maryland. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, four step grandchildren,16 great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Gerald, a daughter Joyce Heuer, three infant children: Lawrence, Daniel, and Georgianne, a granddaughter Michelle Engemann, a brother George, a sister Lillian Jacquin, and a stepson, Edgar Gray.
He was a member of St. George Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be held Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral Services will be Monday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.
Interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Case, MO.
The family requests donations to St. George School or St. Anthony Cemetery Fund.
