He was born June 23, 1940 in Tipton, IN to Claude and Elsie (Pickett) Manlove.
Richard was a 1958 graduate of Tipton High School and took further courses at the Community College of the Air Force and Indiana University Kokomo.
He enlisted in the US Air Force on March 5, 1959 and remained in active duty until March 31, 1981. In his service to our country, he performed the duties of a Technical Training Instructor in Avionic Communications and retired from 22 years of active duty having earned the rank of Master Sargent. He enjoyed being stationed around the world and learning the cultures of Morocco, Libya, Korea, and Japan. He earned many awards and recognitions during his Air Force service including the AF Commendation Medal, USAF NCO Academy Graduate, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship, National Defense Service Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
He was married to Penny London (1964-1991) and Thelma Dell (1991-2015).
Survived by his children: Rob Manlove (Martha) of Ft Wayne, IN; Rebecca Duhamel (Preston) of Baltimore, MD and Roger Manlove (Danielle) of Paulding, OH. He is also survived by 4 stepchildren, a total of 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and sisters: Lois Newton (Muncie), Carolyn Fecher (Noblesville), and Rachel Vice (Bloomington) .
Richard was preceded in death by his three older brothers: Donald Manlove (1944), Max Manlove (2005) and George Manlove (2012), as well as his parents.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Porter's Funeral Home (726 E. North St) in Tipton, IN with internment following at Union Cemetery (US 31 in Atlanta, IN).
