W.H. Adkins, a well known farmer, who lived in Patterson Township, died a few mins after midnight Tuesday morning. Paralysis caused his death and he was stricken less than 12 hours before the end.

Mr. Adkins was 76 years and was well known over the county. He had lived in the section where he died for a long number of years and was liked by those who knew him. He left a wife and 7 children, 4 daughter & 3 sons, all of whom are married. He has one brother living and a large number of other relatives.

Mr. Adkins was twice married. His first wife was Miss Leigh, daughter of Stanford Leigh. Of this union there are seven children. His second wife, Miss Amanda Pope, who survives her husband, no children from this union.

The funeral took place Wednesday, after which the remains were interred in the Berea Church Cemetery. *Source-The Durham recorder, February 22, 1907
