Inelle Lawson Settles, age 80, of Springfield, passed away at 8:40 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. A native of Washington County, she was born on December 30, 1937 to the late George and Lettie Toms Lawson. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church, a 1956 graduate of Mackville High School, a graduate of Campbellsville College and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. Inelle was a retired elementary school teacher having taught for the Washington County School System.

Preceding her in death were three sisters, Zelma Lay, Alma Reynolds and Lucille Skeans and six brothers, Myron, McKinley, Truman, Corbett, Norman and Lonnie Lawson.

On August 31, 1957 she was united in marriage to, Melvin Settles whom she is survived by. Also surviving are two sons, Brad Settles his wife, Leah and their children, Braxton and Harrison of Lexington and Troy Settles his wife, Carol and their children Garrett, Walker, Grayson and Savannah of Springfield and one sister, Jewell Strange and her husband, John Doloway of Louisville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22nd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tobe Yankey, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
