M. Luther Mooney, 86, husband of the late Leona M. (Maylen) Mooney, of Kimberton, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Freedom Village at Brandywine. Born on July 4, 1932 in Kimberton, he was a son of the late Ethel (Hoffecker) and Carl Mooney.
Mr. Mooney was a 1950 graduate of former Spring City High School and had worked as a self-employed carpenter. He played baseball and softball, was a former little league baseball coach at KYAL and was a lifelong Phillies fan. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed his landscape and gardening. He adored his family as they were his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his son: Jeffrey C. Mooney and siblings: Vivian M. Keebler and Phillip M. Mooney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral ceremony at Centennial Lutheran Church, Hares Hill and Coldstream Roads, Kimberton, on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Rev. Gerald L. Tancredi. Interment will follow in the St. Vincent UCC Cemetery, East Vincent. Friends will be received from 9:30 - 10:45 am at the Church.
