WALTER J. HILTNER DIES OF INJURIES
Hurts Sustained In Wreck Saturday Prove Fatal.
Walter Jones Hiltner, 38, of Spotsylvania County, third victim of an automobile accident which occurred three miles from here on the Plank Road last Saturday afternoon, in which two Spotsylvania County men were killed, died in Mary Washington Hospital yesterday afternoon at 5:40 o'clock.
The automobile struck a telephone pole and overturned several times, resulting in almost instant death to Charles Cox, 62, and fatally injuring Frank Rogers, 34. Rogers died several hours after the wreck.
BORN IN BALTIMORE
Hiltner was well known here. He was born August 1, 1898, in Baltimore. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Ella Hiltner, of Spotsylvania County; a sister, Mrs. John Mock, Washington, and two brothers, Howard Hiltner, of Washington, and Maurice Hiltner, of San Francisco, Calif. A niece, Mrs. Frank Silver, of near here, and a nephew, Wilbur Ellington, also survive.
Funeral services will be held from Wheeler and Thompson's funeral parlor Thursday afternoon at
2 o'clock, with interment in Oak Hill cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Rheas Thomas, Wallace Dunavant, Kenneth Hilldrup, John Mullen, Richard Powell and Herbert Cooper.
