Elaine Rivers, 82, peacefully passed away on September 10, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born on December 5, 1935 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Lawrence and Ruth Abernathy.

In her early childhood, she moved with her family to Clovis, New Mexico, where she resided most of her life.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Stirman Rivers. Together, they brought three children into this world. 

Elaine worked as a LPN. She took great pride in serving her patients and her community during her nursing career.
Elaine enjoyed several hobbies including fishing, cooking, crossword puzzles, and coin collecting.
She loved taking care of her family. Elaine was always up for playing games. She enjoyed cards, board games, and video games. 

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Elaine is survived by her
Children:
Barry (Charisse) Rivers of Irving, Texas,
Guy (Melissa) Rivers of Roswell, New Mexico, and
Daughter
Sherri McCarty (Chris) of Clovis, New Mexico. Elaine has eleven
11 Grandchildren and
16 Great Grandchildren as well as other extended family.
