Services for Ira Arnold, age 75, of Lindale, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas with Bro. Ira Lynn and Bro. Bobby McClenny officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Mr. Arnold died Thursday, September 13, 2018 in a Tyler hospital. He was born in Bland, Texas on December 26, 1942 to the late Andrew Edward and Ella Marie (Allison) Arnold and was formerly of Grand Prairie, Texas and Dallas, Texas before moving to Lindale in 1978. Mr. Arnold graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1961 and served in the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1964-1969 aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Following his military service, he worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 24 years as a mail carrier. Mr. Arnold was a member of the South Main Church of Christ in Lindale and enjoyed being involved in prison ministries, working with youth and leading singing in church. He loved his children, grandchildren and antique cars and was once a member of the Mustang Club. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Lynn W. Arnold and 2 sisters, Laverne Skinner and Juanita Hulsey.

Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Arnold of Lindale, Texas; sons & daughters-in-law, Trent & Renee Arnold of Bethel Heights, Arkansas and Andrew Tyson & Marta Arnold of Austin, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Arnold, Hannah Arnold, Elizabeth Arnold, and Jakob Arnold; brothers & sister-in-law, Ken & Neva Arnold of Abilene, Texas and John Arnold of Grand Prairie, Texas; and sisters & brother-in-law, Pearl McPherson and Merle and Bill Conger of Big Spring, Texas.Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Wood, Gary Black, Kevin Black, Aaron Munn, James Truett Praytor and James Black. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
