Bessie Bradley was born on December 31, 1921 in Floydada, Texas to C.W. Boothe and Fannie Mae (Shaw) Boothe. She graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1939 and then married Dent Bradley on September 1, 1939 in Plainview, Texas. They moved to Dimmitt and started farming in the Flagg community and farmed up until retirement. Grandma Bess was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church and the Plains Memorial Hospital Auxillary, she was head of Royal Ambassadors (RA) for several years, she played the piano in church, loved to sew and make crafts. Grandma Bess loved spending her time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Bessie is survived by 2 sons, Gene Bradley and wife Shari, Ray Bradley and wife A’llan both of Dimmitt and daughter, Kay Magee and husband Joe of McLean, 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dent Bradley, son, David Bradley along with 6 brothers.
The family has requested memorials be made to Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery, PO Box 452, Dimmitt, Texas 79027.
