Leukemia, the enigmatic malady for which there is no cure, has taken another life in Oneonta vicinity.
Mrs. Harold Oliver, 38, of South Side, died of that disease at 10:30 p. m. Sunday in Fox Hospital after being a patient there for three months. Life was prolonged through more than 20 blood transfusions but, as in other cases, this expedient served no curative end. It was an acute type of blood disease that attacked her.
The funeral will be held a 2 p. m. Wednesday in Bookhout Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. Theodore Lewis, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. The body will be placed in Bookhout vault for later burial in Plains Cemetery.
Mrs. Oliver was born Aug. 22, 1911, at New Lisbon, daughter of Claude E. and Ethel (Cook) Marble, and was married June 10, 1932, to Harold Oliver in Oneonta.
She was collector for School District No. 10, secretary of the Mother's Club, a member of South Side Home Bureau, Protective Home circle and First Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, father, four daughters, all at home; three brothers, two sisters.
