Born December 17, 1928 in Upalco, Duchesne County to Hugo K. and Martha Marett Mitchell.
Married Gordon W. Evans on December 17, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was a very active person enjoying music, dancing, sports, and serving whereever she was called in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband served a mission in Johannesburg, South Africa, after which she served as a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple until her death.
She was a wonderful example of what a mother should be. She was a good friend, companion, and sweetheart to her husband. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings. She was close to her brothers and sisters of which she had many.
She was shy and quiet yet loved to help others. She has touched many hearts with her kindness and service and worked as a nurse for twenty-eight years. She will be remembered for her beautiful quilts and crocheted shawls.
Survived by her husband, Gordon; children, Gordon Kent (Nancy) Evans and Connie (Calvin R.) Owen; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her brothers, Marcus and Loal; and sister, Ila Holt.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Granger South Stake Center, 4586 West 3960 South. Friends and family may call on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), and prior to the services at the church on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
