Throughout his brief life, Justin never lost his love of soccer and music, but the greatest love in his life was his six-year-old son, Holden, who shares Justin’s mischievous grin. We feel blessed to have had Justin in our lives and will miss his sense of humor and generous heart.
Justin is survived by his son, Holden Hopkins, Holden’s mother, Leslie Gadd, and Holden’s sister Hannah Shirley; father, David Hopkins and wife Donna Barrere; biological father, Bobby Taylor and wife Angela; sisters, River, Riley, Sophie, and Sarah; brothers, Joshua, Ethan, Caleb, and Jesse; grandparents, Mike and Paula Meiners, Paul and Linda Haschak, and John and Pat Taylor; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Justin was preceded in death by his mother, Teri Meiners Hopkins; and grandparents, James Robert and Carol Bauer Hopkins.
Visitation will take place at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, on Monday, July 2, from 5 p.m. until Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 3, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 440 Marquette Avenue, from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Reverend Nutan Minj.
Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Mandeville City Cemetery conducted by Reverend Mark Lomax. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to a special fund for Holden’s education at Ugift529.com (enter code G7B-J2G).
