MARSHALL -- Services for Horace B. Ferrell will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Colburn, pastor of Waskom United Methodist Church, the Rev. E. Bowman, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Waskom and the Rev. W.T. Permenter, former pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Waskom officiating. Interment will be in Restland Cemetery in Waskom.

Mr. Ferrell died March 10, 2007, at a Marshall hospital. Born October 5, 1924, in Linden, he served in the Marines during World War II, was a deacon and elder in First Presbyterian Church of Waskom and a 32nd degree Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Ferrell; sons, Ronnie and Randy Ferrell; daughter, Deborah Jones; brothers, David and Morris Ferrell; and sister, Lillian Parker.

Horace Burl Ferrell, the fifth child of John Burl & Annie Eulala (Watkins) Ferrell, born in Cass County Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 of his 6 brother, William Vernon Ferrell, John Orval Ferrell, Vance Clifton Ferrell & Harland Oneal Ferrell.

Military Note:
Pfc. Horace B. Ferrell, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Ferrell of Linden, graduate of Linden High. Entered Marines in 1942, trained in San Diego, Cal. Served on Guam and Guadalcanal. Awarded Presidential Ctiation and Purple Heart. Wounded in Bougainville in 1942. Discharged in 1943.
