Adele Anders Olinger Ballard, 98, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007. She was the daughter of the late John W. Anders and Bessie Long Anders. Husbands Randall B. Ballard (Peterstown, W.Va.) and Howard C. Olinger (Prices Fork) predeceased her. Her brothers, Willard W. Anders, Curtis Anders and sister, Ernestine Anders also preceded her in death. Survivors are her daughters and son-in-law, Alleta "Jo" O. Helms, Christiansburg, Shirley O. Aiken, Newport News, Sarah B. and Mark Keagles, Salem; son, Randy Ballard, Jr., Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandchildren and spouses, Barry and Francine Helms, Wanda and Gary Proco all of Christiansburg, Julia Aiken, Williamsburg, Suzanne Burns, Yorktown and Sherry Bishop of Salem; greatgrandchildren and spouses, Staci Proco, Bobbi Jo Proco, of Christiansburg, Linda and Justin Acker, Memphis, Tenn., Mary Helms, Ft. Myers, Fla., Erin and Eric Lawson, Radford, Shelby, Samantha and William Burns, Yorktown, Dewayne Bishop and Ashley Bishop, Salem; one greatgreatgranddaughter, Katie Proco; sister-in-law, Virginia Thomas Anders, Bedford, Va.; special caregivers, Doris Farley, Tessa Proco and Bobbi Jo Proco and her hospice nurse, Venus Bigham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Faith Christian Church, P.O. Box 2117, Christiansburg, Va. 24068; Belmont Christian Church, 2149 Dominion Drive, Christiansburg, Va. 24073 or to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, P.O. Box 1270, Charlotte, N.C. 28201-1270. She loved the Lord and continued to go to church as long as she was able. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Faith Christian Church with the Rev. Clyde George, the Rev. Jim Bayne and the Rev. Otto Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. The Ballard Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, 382-2612.
