Raymond C. Bultema, aged 71, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his father, August Bultema.
Ray is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ilene; children, Kurt Bultema, Stephen and Sandy Bultema, Sharyl Bultema; six grandchildren, Jeremy and Melissa Bultema, Chad and Meghan Bultema, Nicole and Nate Luebs, Shawn and Lindsey Bultema, Melissa Bultema, Evan Stobbs-Bultema; five great grandchildren, Brayden, Rylan, Mackenzie, Preston, Adelaide; mother, Josephine Bultema; brother, Ron Sr. and Terri Bultema; brother-in-law, Don and Dort Schlientz.
Ray, along with his brother Ron Sr., was a 2nd generation owner of Bultema Bros. Road Construction where he served as president for 25 years. The company is now being run by a 3rd generation.
Ray was a member of Rush Creek Bible Church, located at 2334 - 76th Street SW, Byron Center, where his funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Gary Leyendecker officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Rush Creek Bible Church Building Fund.
