Henry I. Palmer Obituary
Henry I. Palmer, 88, of Bolivar, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at the Bethlen home. He was born Nov. 24, 1929, in Ligonier, a son of the late Charles B. and A. Rachel (Wisner) Palmer. Henry was a longtime member of the Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church. Prior to his retirement, Henry was employed with Latrobe Steel, and started in 1986 running the Fort Palmer Cemetery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Muir Palmer, and an infant sister, Cora Jane Palmer; brother, Arnold P. Palmer; and a sister, Ester Lute. He is survived by his three children, Karen (Jay) Lauffer, of Blairsville, Henry L. (Patricia) Palmer, of Bolivar, and Bonnie L. (Tom) Chesla, of Derry; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles H. (Betty) Palmer, of New Florence, Dave B. (LoraLee) Palmer, of Ligonier, and a sister, Sara (Sonny) Ambrose, of Ligonier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 402 E. Church St., Ligonier. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Private interment will follow in the Fort Palmer Cemetery.
