Civil war veteran, Company K, 10th (Johnson’s) Kentucky Partisan Rangers Cavalry, C.S.A. He enlisted on September 28, 1862 in Hopkins County, Kentucky, serving as 4th Sergeant. Post-war he was a member of the Ned Meriwether Camp #241, United Confederate Veterans of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He was listed on the 1910 Weber County, Utah census as a Confederate Veteran.

He was listed on the 1872 and 1873 Caldwell County, Kentucky Militia rolls.A brother, Albert Gallatin Darnall, served in Company C, 3rd Kentucky Infantry, C.S.A.Source: “History and Roster of Company K, Tenth Kentucky Partisan Rangers, C.S.A.” By Stephen D. Lynn.

He was identified as having served in the Confederate Army in the 1910 Weber County, Utah census.
