1866 Remarriage of Samuel in Port Huron, MI, to Lucy M. Fick, born June 8, 1847 in Canada. She died May 16, 1929 in Port Huron, MI. Her Father born in NY, her mother in Ireland. Based in 1900 Fed. Census

1870 Federal Census for Jefferson, Greene, Iowa: Samuel Brackett, age 52, Occupation: butcher, wife Lucy, age 32, son Frank Brackett, age 22, Occupation: butcher, daughter Pearl, age 4. Samuel born in Maine, Lucy in Canada, Frank in WI, Pearl in IA.

1870 - Est year of death. Burial location is uncertain but is believed to be with parents and daughter. Presumably she returned home with daughter, Alice, who married back into the Libby family ca. 1880. Research needed. Civil War Pension File for Samuel states that Elisabeth died about July 1870. Found in the Portland Daily Press dated 4 July 1870 died on 23 June 1870 in Biddeford, Maine Mrs. Elisabeth Brackett.

1900 (her spouse had remarried) Federal Census for South Street, Jefferson, Greene, Iowa: Samuel Brackett, age 72, Occupation: clerk; grocery, wife Lucy, age 52, married 34 years, 1 child born, 1 alive, servant Mattie Winklman, age 33. Samuel born in Me, Lucy in NY, Mattie born in IA. Their daughter Esa Pearl, born Aug 4, 1875 in Jefferson, IA, married 1895 Byron Alexander Baker, ( 1870-1928) died 1959.
