Patrick F. Ahern, preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie (Moran) devoted father of Maureen T. (David) Dalton, Patrick J. (Janet) Ahern, Rosemarie (Henry) Dubina, Kathleen M. (James) Littleton, Mary Ellen (Gary) Garbrecht and Nora J. (David) Allen; loving grandfather of 30 and great-grandfather of two; dear son of the late Patrick J. and Jane E., nee Condon; and preceded in death by his sisters Marie and Leona (Francis) Moss and brothers Rev. John J. and Gerald S. (the late Mary); survived by his loving sisters and brother, Jane A. (the late Angelo) Cantieri, Sr. Catherine Ahern, O.P. "Adrian" and Eugene Ahern (Roseanne); and many nieces and nephews.

Served with honor as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. Attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary and St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein. Earned advanced degrees including a Doctorate in Education from Loyola University of Chicago. Career of almost 40 years with the Chicago Public School system including teacher at Robert Healy School, District Superintendent and co-director of the High School Renaissance program.

Visitation Monday 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday 9:45 from Kenny Brothers, 3600 W. 95th Street to Most Holy Redeemer Church (Evergreen Park). Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association and American Cancer Society c/o Kenny Brothers.
