Julie Ann Kelley Adams, resident of Scotts Hills, Tennessee and a native of Somerville, departed this life Friday afternoon, January 10, 2014 at the Decatur County General Hospital in Parsons, Tennessee. She was 49 years of age and died unexpectedly of natural causes.

Services of Remembrance for Ms. Adams were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 15th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with her relative, Bro. Kevin Treadway of Somerville, officiating. A Private Interment will be in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Ms. Adams was born August 28, 1964 in Fayette County, the daughter of Albert S. Kelley and the former Yvonne Pitts. She received her education in the Hardeman County Public School System and was a graduate of the Bolivar Central High School. Ms. Adams was a homemaker and also employed as a sewing machine operator in Adamsville, Tennessee, for a number of years.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a former resident of the Whiteville and Bolivar Communities before moving to Decatur County, Tennessee over 20 years ago. She will be remembered as a person who loved all things outdoors that included nature, horseback riding and animals. She received much pleasure from caring for her pet canine, “Chloe”.

Ms. Adams is survived by her daughter, Peyton Adams of Scotts Hill, TN; her son, Michael Hammons (Brady) of Olive Branch, MS; her father, Albert S. Kelley (Ann) of Somerville; her mother, Yvonne Pitts Plunk of Scotts Hill, TN; her paternal grandmother, Mary Buckner Kelley of New Albany, MS; and two grandchildren, Taylor Hammons and Tucker Hammons.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Cole and her brother, Jason Kelley.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fayette County Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 44, Rossville, TN 38066 or the Decatur County Humane Association, P.O. Box 514, Parsons, TN 38363.
