Lois M. (Hostetler) Bunch

Lois Bunch, age 89, of Mystic, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 02, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
She was born on April 10, 1929 in Shelbyville, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Unizicker) Hostetler. Lois married David Bunch in Waterloo, Iowa, on June 1, 1952. David preceded her in death on April 14, 2005.
Throughout the majority of her working career, Lois laid sod for many homes and businesses. Furthermore, she spent several years helping operate the family sod business. Later, Lois was employed in the housekeeping department for eleven years at the University of Iowa Hospitals, eventually retiring.
In retirement, Lois and David became snowbirds. Every Winter they enjoyed taking their motorhome south to Brownsville, Texas for vacation. Lois also possessed other hobbies in her free time, including her passion for Word Search books, as well as attending Blue Grass concerts with friends and family. She also cherished Sundays at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Centerville. Most importantly, Lois loved spending time her family.
Left to honor her memory include five children, Kenneth Bunch of San Francisco, California, Edward (Yvonne) Bunch of Des Moines, Iowa, Roy Bunch of Mystic, Iowa, Nancy (Patrick) Howard of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and James Bunch of Des Moines, Iowa; two step-children, David Bunch Jr. of Prairie City, Iowa and Lorena Osborn of Des Moines, Iowa; several grandchildren, including Tyson Faoro, Tesa Faoro, Tasha Faoro, Edward Bunch Jr., Tricia Roberts, Tina Beardsley, and Michael Bunch, along with many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; and three sisters, Erma Sommers, Grace Fargher, and Bertha Yoder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, David Bunch; a child, Robert Bunch; two brothers, Dean and Joseph; and two sisters, Dorothy and Esther.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 9-10 AM. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Rev. Jeremy McElvain officiating. Burial will follow in the Elgin Cemetery, Mystic. A memorial has been established to the Lois Bunch Family and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
