Jim passed away peacefully at KGH on Sunday, August 26, 2018, in his 81st year. Lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 55 years, Vera (nee Pringle), his daughter Tracey (Geoff), sons Jamie (Sheri), and Brad (Christina). Proud Papa to grandsons Landon, Ashton, Cole, Evan, Blake, Owen and Apollo. He will also be missed by his siblings Ruth, Marie (Vern), Stanley (Sheila), Jerry (Clifford), Gary (Michelle), Larry, Penny, Jenny (Rick), step-mother Susie Aylesworth as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brother Ken (Stephanie), brother-in-law Wesley, father Arthur and mother Amelia Simpson. Family and friends will be received at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Sunday, September 2 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Jim's full life will be held at INVERARY UNITED CHURCH, on Monday, September 3 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held immediately after the service in the church hall. Please join us to share stories and remember a life well-lived. Interment will take place at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kingston Humane Society or Inverary United Church would be appreciated by the family.
