Lillian (my great grandmother) was the daughter of Jacob Schwinderman and Alice Meeks, she was the wife of John N. Wroth and mother to: Pearl, Earl, David, Daisy, George, Jennie, Eva and Beulah. George died at the age of 3 in Silver City, Iowa and Beulah died at the age of 9 months. In 1906/1907 Her husband John and his oldest brother Tom Wroth set out on horseback for California. Tom was not married but Lillian and her 5 living children at the time traveled by train to meet them in California. Lillian was pregnant with Eva at the time she was traveling to California and Beulah was the last born child in 1911. John died in 1913 of Tuberculosis of the lungs. After Johns death, Lillian and the children moved back to Bunker Hill in Los Angeles. Lillian and Earl died of the Spanish Flu epidemic. David and his new wife Belle were taking care of the family during their illness. After Lillian died, Jennie went to live with her sister Daisy and her husband and Eva went to live with her Aunt May and Uncle Dave Murphy. Such a shame that John and Lillian died so young.Lillian married John Neil WROTH 1894 in Iowa.

Lillian was the daughter of Jacob W SCHWINDERMAN, (1850 - 1924), and Alice "Allie" L MEEKS, (1860 - 1913).

John and Lillian are buried in California. They moved to California in 1906, Lillian and children by train and John and his brother Tom went by horseback. I can't imagine how hard that was on all of them. Dianne Fleenor
