Stephen Wayne "Wack" Wettschurack, 63, of Otterbein, died, Thursday, August 30, 2018. He was born June 3, 1955, in Lafayette, to the late Wayne Wettschurack & Marjorie (Fording) Sheets-Hinton. He was a 1973 graduate of Benton Central High School. He was the owner of Rescue Recovery; where he was a Certified Farm Accident Rescue Instructor. He had previously been a Grain Safety Specialist in the Department of Agricultural & Biological Engineering at Purdue University, Quality Control Manager at McKinney Corp. & was the former Director of Tippecanoe Emergency Management. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. He had helped found the Otterbein Ambulance service & had been a member & former Chief of the Otterbein Area Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Steve had served as the President of the Benton Co. 4H Fair Board, President of the Emergency Management Alliance of Indiana & Civil Defense Director.
Steve is survived by 2 Sons, Anthony Wettschurack (Fiancé, Megan Bowers) & Cory Wettschurack, Daughter, Chellane Slaybaugh (Fiancé, David Parker), Sister, Dianne Hands (Husband, Eddie), the light of his life, his Grandchildren, Gavin Wettschurack, Kayden Carnley, Peyton Parker & Alexis Banes & the Special Person in his Life, Angie Foster Honeywell.
Visitation, to Celebrate Steve’s Life, will be, Wednesday, September 5, 2018, from 5-8 PM, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 E. Oxford St., Otterbein, IN. Funeral Celebration will be, at 11 AM, Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the church, with Pastor John Randall officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Garden. Casual Attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to Shoemaker Funeral Home; to help with expenses.
