Dorothy M. Bergstad, 84, Bergen, passed away Tuesday in a Velva care center. Her funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, with burial in Velva Cemetery. She was born Feb. 8, 1908, near Mohall, to Charles and Ellen Allen. She was reared and educated in the Mohall area. She received her teaching certificate from Minot State University in 1928. She taught in Norwich until 1932 when she moved to Bergen. She married Oscar Bergstad June 12, 1934, in Mohall. She taught in Bergen, Zap, Ryder, Drake, Steele and Donnybrook until retiring in 1973. They moved back to Bergen in 1973 where she lived until April 1991 when she moved to the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva. She was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church and the Velva Senior Citizens. Survivors: husband, one son, one daughter, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one sister.
