Death of John A. Trimble
Apoplexy Removes an Old and Respected Citizen
John Allen Trimble, ex-postmaster, ex-county auditor and one of the city's oldest and most highly respected citizen died Tuesday morning of apoplexy.
Mr. Trimble was at his farm south of town in company with John Arthurs when the fatal stroke occurred.
He had, however, been in failing health for a long time, being a sufferer of bright's disease.
Mr. Arthur hurriedly took him to his home on East Main Street and Dr. Truman Holmes was called, and, although there was a temporary rally, it was easy to be seen that death was inevitable in a short time.
The son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. H. M. Brown of Cincinnati and Mr. and Mrs. John Clark of Columbus were notified by wire, but none of them arrived until after death had occurred.
Mr. Trimble was 63 years of age and was the son of the late James Madison Trimble and a grandson of Governor Allen Trimble.
Of four brothers, he was the last survivor. He leaves one grown son, Starling.
The funeral will take place from the residence at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon and will be conducted by the Rev. Geo. B. Beecher.
