Eleanor A. Domingue, age 91, She was born on May 16, 1927, to Frank and Hattie Grohman in String Prairie, Texas, and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She and Curtis were married on October 19, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas, and resided in Corpus Christi, since 1955. They celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2017. Curtis and Eleanor were lifelong Catholics and, following many years of service at Saint Patrick's and Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Churches, became active members of Saint Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in 1992. For many years they were members of the Ya-Ya's and Yo-Yo's exercise group at the YMCA.
Curtis served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a tile contractor in the Corpus Christi area until his retirement in 1991. In his retirement, he was a master woodworker who made many beautiful pieces for his church, family and friends. He was a brother Knight in the Saint Philip's Knights of Columbus, Council 9220, and also was a 4th degree Knight in Corpus Christi Assembly 1097.
While raising her four children, Eleanor was very active in church and school activities. She served as PTO President at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic School. She also helped her husband in the tile business with bookkeeping and other clerical services. After getting her GED, she received her Associate of Arts degree from Del Mar College in 1986.
They are survived by their children Sandy Perry (John) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Curtis Domingue, Jr. (Beth) of Conroe, Texas, Randy Domingue (Jane) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Laurie Bybee (Aaron) of Camino, California. They are also survived by grandchildren, Chris Fisher (Brandy), Tammy Fisher, Michael Fisher, Jason Fisher (Tracy), Darla Monzon (Alfred), Andy Rich (Brigid), Ryan Domingue (Lorencita), Tom Rich (Rebecca), Benjamin Domingue, Alina Bybee, Nora Bybee and 14 great-grandchildren. They are also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Eleanor is also survived by her siblings, Tommy Grohman (Audrey) of Burnet, Texas, Billy Grohman (Charmaine) of New Braunfels, Texas, Marvin Grohman of San Antonio, Texas and Patricia Cloud (Bill) of Sugarland, Texas.
Visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2018, at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Saint Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 3513 Cimarron Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas. Entombment, including military honors for Curtis, will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
After sharing over 70 years together, they are now joined for eternity in Heaven.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of this is love.
