Stella was born in Prairie Valley, Texas, on May 19, 1939, lived and worked on the family farm until 1950, then moved with her family to Fort Worth. She attended B.H. Carroll Elementary, Rosemont Junior High and Paschal High School, graduating from Paschal in 1957. In 1959, she married August Granville Anderson, Jr., and in 1960, they had a son, Jimmy Creig Anderson.

Stella enjoyed a successful career of more than forty years in various roles in the roofing products industry, all with Johns Manville, where her warm personality and strong work ethic earned her the respect and admiration of JM management and her many clients and colleagues. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed quilting, cooking, traveling, tending to her yard, garden and rose bushes, but most of all, spending time with and spoiling her three grandchildren. Stella was a true nurturer, selflessly helping and caring for others until her last illness. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph and Lola Belle Hutchison, brother, Piney Joe “Pete” Hutchison, and dear friend, Pat Bentley.

Survivors include her son, Creig, and wife Lee Ann; sisters, Alma Ruth Eastland, Mildred Ethel Jones, Della Mae Williams and Bettie Carol Schlatter; grandchildren, Brian Alden, Carolyn Claire, and William Foreman Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Service: Stella will be remembered at a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018, at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and visitors following the service. Her ashes will be interred privately at Whitney Memorial Park. Memorials: The family has asked that any memorials be directed to organizations that support Alzheimer's and dementia research and patient care; St. Gabriel’s Hospice; or the arts organization of your choice.
