She was the wife of Marion Henderson. She was called "Jerseyanna".

Mary Martin married Marion Henderson in 1888 at her home in Medlan Chapel. He preceded her in death.

Services for Mrs. Mary Henderson, 74, were held at Medlan Chapel officiated by Rev. Omar Strickland. She passed away at the home of a daughter in Graham.

She lived in Jackson, Mississippi with her parents until 1883 when she moved to Young County and settled in the Medlan Chapel Community. She attended school at Mt. Pleasant and became a member of Medlan Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in 1885. Mrs. Henderson lived 10 miles south of Graham from 1909-1940 at which time she went to live with a sister, Mrs. Ida Brooks of Eliasville. In 1943, she made her home in Graham with a daughter. Four children preceded her in death.

Survived by four daughters - Mrs. Elmer Gilmore, Mrs. J.W. House, Mrs. Robert Lindley, Mrs. Frank Broxton; four sons - Robert Henderson, Joe Henderson, Albert Henderson, Tommy Henderson; two sisters - Ida Brooks, Mrs. L.F. Evans; one brother - J.J. Martin; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
