Mr. Aldridge died Sunday, April 14 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
A native of Holmes County, he had lived at West before moving to Florence in 1982. He was the retired owner/operator of Aldridge Downtown Gulf Service Station in Jackson. He retired from there in October, 1990 before moving to Florence. He had worked 17 years with Superior Coach in Kosciusko. He was a former member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, song leader and Sunday School teacher for 30 years. At the time of his death he was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church at Star.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Tucker Aldridge of Florence; two sons, Dudley Burke Aldridge of Old Hickory, Tennessee and Earl Bishop Aldridge of Richland; one daughter, Tammy Miles of Pearl; three sisters, Helen Gelston and Elsie Cade, both of West, and Shirley Hathcock of Durant; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Buddy Hathcock, Jimmy Hathcock, George Hathcock, Billy Hathcock, Gene Gelston, Gerry Gelston, Johnny Gelston, Raymond Cade, Frankie Cade, and Wendy Cade.
The family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church of West or Pinecrest Baptist Church of Star.
