Fred O. Mallard, 71, of Browning Drive went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his home. Fred was born in Texhoma, OK on May 15, 1947 to the late Luther Mallard and Mae Etta Carter Mallard. He retired with 23 years of service from the United States Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War. He worked as an inspector for the NC Department of Transportation, where he also retired. He was of the Baptist faith. Fred married Louise Jackson on April 17, 1969 Along with his mother and father, Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Mallard.
