Funeral services for John "J. W." Fowler, 72, of Winnsboro, will be 11 am Friday, August 24, 2018, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Beard officiating. Interment will follow in Ogden Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 5 pm Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the funeral home.
J. W. was born March 14, 1946 in Winnsboro to the union of Jessie Herman Fowler and Eva Marie Johnson Fowler and passed from this life on August 20, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
J. W. was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Welders Union for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim Fowler and sister Irma Marie Fowler.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Pat Fowler; two sons: Jay Fowler and wife Jyme Faye, and Stacy B. Fowler all of Winnsboro; two grandchildren: Jacob Fowler and Jacie Fowler; one sister, Hilda St. Pierre of Shreveport; one brother, Douglas Fowler and wife Brenda JoAnn of Shreveport; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Canady, Ronnie Canady, Mike Jenkins, Joe Don Leonard, Ricky Reeves, and Greg Williamson.
