Donald Clayton Ludwig Sr., 83, of Spring Township, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 in his residence. He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Harr) Ludwig. Born in Berks County, he was the son of the late Herbert C. and Margaret A. (Drexler) Ludwig. Donald served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters, Carla Reichart, wife of Jeffrey, of South Heidelberg Township; Gloria Ludwig, and Michael J. Fritz of Ephrata; Donald Ludwig Jr., husband of Stephanie, of Exeter; stepchildren, Wendy Colosimo, wife of Francis, of Sinking Spring; and Christopher Tag, husband of Kathy of Womelsdorf. Donald is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven, Jessie, Nettie, Christopher, Nick, Valerie, Cassandra, Samantha, Nicole, Ben; great-grandchildren, Gloryanna, Damen, Anthony, Ivianna, Iviar, Chloe, Tyson, Avery, Mallory; sister, Margaret Ganas and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Mary Gomez ; step-son Brian Tag; grandson, Matthew Wisniewski; brother, Herbert Ludwig; and sister, Jeanne Kallmeyer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peters the Apostle Roman Catholic Church 322 South 5th Street Reading, on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 9:30am. Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum. Bean Funeral Homes, Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements.
